Hundreds of New Poems Added
25 Mar 2002 3:27 AM
Mega-update tonight. We've added nearly 700 new poems, including all of your submissions and hopefully most suggestions and requests. The "What's New?" page may take a long time to load.

This update includes Berryman's complete 77 Dream Songs (and many more from His Toy, His Dream, His Rest) as well as a bunch from Allen Ginsberg, classics from Homer and Ovid, and many many poems from Delmore Schwartz and Robert Service to boot.

Also up is this week's "Letter to a Young Poet" - Letter 3. We'll continue to add one a week for six more weeks.

April is National Poetry Month, so be sure to check back here then for lots more.

Until then, enjoy!
Site Redesign in Progress
18 Mar 2002 2:03 AM
Greetings. We're currently working to give the site a facelift. You can go to the homepage to see some of our preliminary work. Let us know how it looks, and if you have any ideas for layout or features. Everything's pretty much still up in the air, so your input can make a difference. Send us feedback and sound off!

Also recently added is the ability to "quick search" for an author or title using the address bar. In other words, instead of having an address like 'http://www.plagiarist.com/poetry/?wid=1078' you could just type 'http://www.plagiarist.com/poetry/The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock' or even just http://www.plagiarist.com/poetry/prufrock/ and you'll get there. The search will look for poets' last names first, and then titles.

It's just another way to link to a particular poet in the archive. If more than one result is returned, you'll be able to pick between them.

We're pushing back our poetry update this week since we've been adding a lot of material recently and have been told that it's been hard to keep up.

Check the archive section though, for the next installment of Rilke's "Letters to a Young Poet".
Five Seven Five - Haiku!
11 Mar 2002 2:41 AM
We added poems from the royal triumvirate of haiku - Basho, Buson, and Issa.

There are multiple translations of some of the poems, and as a special bonus, we'd like to feature some of your haiku in a feature we're running with Buson's eleven poems that begin with the same first line, 'The short night--'. Check the link below for more details.
Letters to a Young Poet
11 Mar 2002 2:35 AM
This week's addition to the Articles section features the introduction and first letter from Rilke's ten letters to a young poet, Franz Kappus.

In addition to our regular updates, we'll be adding one letter per week for the next ten weeks (especially a propos since April is National Poetry Month).

These letters inspired me as a very young poet, and continue to give me comfort. I must have read these letters a hundred times. I hope you'll find as much value in them as I have.

Cheers,

-- Jough Dempsey, Editor.
Collected Poems of William Butler Yeats
2 Mar 2002 11:51 PM
The Plagiarist.com Archive now contains the complete collected poetry of William Butler Yeats! One of the reasons that I began this project was to have a searchable archive of electronic Yeats, and now I do, and so do you.

And please let me know of typos, which I hope are minimal. Enjoy!
