I loved this poem it has so much emotion. I really loved the way it ended. rises toward her day after day like a terrible old fish. This line has so much meaning. Its interesting how she chose a fish and not some other creature which would symbolize "ugliness". I guess it makes sense though she probaly chose a fish to suit the setting also a fish depends on water just as much as the woman depends on the mirror. anyway its unfortunate on what happened to Plath as I truly believe she is a magnificent writer.
