I think this is a fantastic poem. In fact, I can't remember another poem that so completely grips the experience of praying drunk. I've been there so many times--always drawing the same conclusions...

I simply loath this man. No one captures, well, to me, the essence of the unfunny quite like Dr. Hudgins. I just read some bit of his in The American Scholar ( a rag more full of the selves of the contributors than any contributions ). . . Could not have been more grating in tone an topic.... infatuation with a newscaster, my ass... Please close this man off from limnation further.
