I think that this is one of the great poems by Sara Teasdale. This poem is mainly written by her in order to express her relationship with her boyfriend Lindsay. As most of us know that they both loved each other but ironically married different ones facing their own troubles. So almost every poem written by her reflects her hardiships and her unforgiven mistake in her life that is her marriage.
