Did anyone ever listen to Browning recite the poem himself. It's the only recording of his voice in existance. He manages to deliver the first four lines and then stops & says "I'm sorry Gentlemen, I'm afraid I've forgotten the words of me own poem". Hilarious.

This is the first known recording of any voice to be played after that person's death. It was supposedly premiered at a service of commemoration in Venice, one year after his death.
