We had a copy of "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" when I was growing up. I loved to have my mom read them to me and being able to read them to myself was my prime motivation when I started school. I learned to read because of T.S. Eliot. Proof, if nothing else, that poetry has many uses, even for children.
