Purposely written in the most repulsive style she could muster, the author, in this poem, expresses her state of disgust and denial. It is clear that this poem was written a the end of a terrible and fatal relationship. A future was lost forever also means that she was feeling a terrible loss. If only the poor bastard knew how much this woman loved him!!! I suspect that this would be one of her earlier relationships.

i find it odd that the poem be the date April 18, my birthday. mostly one must wonder why she gave a day as the tittle. was it the day she wrote it? the day she met who she wishes to forget? or the day they parted ways?
