this is one of the most miving pieces that I have ever read. the entire thing is just a metapjhor for loss in a world of loss....

i love the way o'hara captures the human condition here. it's so true, there's so much that we put off for months and months and never get around to doing, all the while saying we'll do it.

I don't actually think this is about loss, as, like many of O' Hara's poems, it uses the darker aspects of life to highlight the goodness, i.e. it is a poem about looking for the bright side, etc.
