Philip Larkin

This poem, although often overlooked by critics, perfectly represents Larkin. It captures his use of pithy phrases, and shows a more sentimental side of Larkin while still representing the common thread of human suffering. This poem is much softer when compared to his others, such as "This be the verse."

Gorgeous poem and this has nothing to do with it but -- just wanted to say how sweet that santa cap on the plagiarist title is, ho ho ho, and merry greetings of the season.

Does anyone know what collection this poem appears in? It doesn't seem to be in the Collected Poems.
