This poem was written to John Holmes, about his criticism on the confessional nature of her poetry, in particular, the manuscript of 'to bedlam and part the way back'. This poem addresses his fear, specifically, "your fear is everyone's fear". Basically, she explains the liberating nature of her work and how the honesty of it deserves respect, and how it can assist others with psychiatric illnesses.
