Yoke: A fitted or shaped piece at the top of a skirt or at the shoulder of various garments
Yardage: Presumably the length of cloth (?)
Lapped: FROM to Lap, to fold over especially INTO layers
Overseam: A join visible on the outside of the cloth
Presser: Machine for ironing cloth
Wringer: Machine or device for pressing out liquid or moisture
Mangle: Machine for ironing laundry by passing it between heated rollers
Treadle: Swiveling or lever device pressed by the foot to drive a machine
Bobbin: Cylinder or spindle on which yarn or thread is wound (as in a sewing machine)
Placket: A slit in a garment (as a skirt) often forming the closure
Bar-tacked: To tack = to join in a slight or hasty manner, large stitches to join cloth before sewing
