A poem is dedicated to Mac Hammond in "Practical Gods" by Carl Dennis, which won the 2002 Pulitzer for Poetry; see pp. 38-39 of the volume. That poem, "Numbers", is in part a description of the joint creative process through which Hammond and some of his friends created their work.
