I love this poem. Our lives go wrong in slow, imperceptible ways, like a knife going dull. I don't mean very wrong, just a slow slipping out of tune. Automatic, day-to-day living wears us down. We are in need of inspiration. You know how everything seems new and vivid when you're in love? That's what he's talking about. I wish the life-sharpener came around regularly!
