That is one of the funniest poems I have ever read.

I personally think this should go along with his erotic work. It's highly suggestive and pretty darned sexy in addition to having ee cummings' rather famous humor.

This poem is about a rather romantic guy who's serving in a war not for any personal reason such as love for country but because he was forced to serve or expected to serve or both. All he's really thinking about is a girl he left back home. It's sad in a way cuz he isn't able to follow his heart and he's risking his life involuntarily without comprehending the seriousness of his situation.
