It is the first two verses (as printed here, sometimes they are in a different order) that have become part of common culture, to be sung on Armistice Day, Nov 11; ANZAC Day, April25; and at the burial or remembrance service for persons in the Armed Services. Together the two stanzas make a powerful statement. No more is necessary.
