This poem shows the truth about how poetry reveals the truth about human relations. The fact that it is 400 years old yet can still be understood now, in 2004, illustrates how emotions do not change. Her other poems, also reward study.

i've read this poem more than five times. through reading on its' surfaces, i don't think it would help us to find out the exact meaning of this poem. This poem indicates that the poet tries to show her love to her hubby, but when we think back about he poet's belief, it's not right to show ur emotions to someone in a conceit ways.Must remember..she's a Puritan follower.
