Why is it that people are so quick to cut. Try reading "Beginning" again, out loud, and with the feeling the poet intended. Have you no feeling or imagination?

Perhaps Evil Heartburn Man has more than leaned into his own darkness.

This poem, as a great many of Wright's poems, manages to allow one to focus on what is usually taken for granted, and explode outward (or inward) to new perception.
He was a consumate poet.
