Dwarfs must be left at dawn -- they have to go into the caves then because they're allergic to SUN, as has been proven again in recent literary memory. They turn to stone when the sun shines. They're dwarfs. Think about it.

Hey, I've got a copy of this poem right in front of me, and yes it is supposed to be wharves, not dwarves, Neruda wasn't even into fantasy or dwarves, lol, he was more into imagery and he was using the sea as a symbol (of what, I'm not sure yet).

the sea or ocean (according to carl jung) usually represent the unconscious mind... maybe?

I know it's definitely "wharves", but almost every single version a google search turns up says "dwarves". Mios Dio! What the hell?
