I read this poem a LONG time ago, and I realized at that time that Ogden Nash actually could write stuff that made sense, rhymed, AND scanned reasonably well. The references to the 1920's and 1930's characters are a little obscure, but with a good search engine like Google, I was able to find the background for each of the names and the associated crimes.

And speaking of Google - that's how I found this site in the first place.

Years ago I found a copy of ths poem and I had the sense to take a copy. Now I have Google I look forward to tracking down the characters mentioned.
