This ranks with the best of Merwin's poetry, in my opinion. The last line is so grave and gentle.

I always search this poem out for those last two unbelievable lines, certainly two of the most beautiful lines in poetry...What a way to convey the acknowledgement and angst of all that is unrealized in us!
