"valves of her attention..."

Question: if a writer used the phrase "valves of attention" in a piece of writing, without giving credit to Dickinson...would that be considered plagiarism? I have seen such a work and was quite curious.

It is apparant that Dickinson in reality is not choosing a society, instead perhaps she is closing all the doors to prevent further pain. The lingering presence of death is chilling.

supposely, te soul is an open gate, but emily is focusing on how it selects its own society and then shuts the door meaning that in has nothing to do more with others and crumples in its own pain....
