That last stanza is an extremely precise and sharply focused description of that impulse towards death which lies dormant in most of us for much of the time. Plath never seems to be afraid to pursue such impulses to wherever they take her.

It is a simple yet beautiful poem in which the speaker seems aware of the presence of the 'impending end'; the world around her is silent and yet at peace. The sheep remind me of angels, but the speaker sees them and the surrounding world disappear in the fog and a dark void approaching. It is all very well said in very few words; by now Plath has long mastered her craft.
