Yes, indeed this rose smells of Celia, whom I give my deepest sympathies. I do hope she doesn't know people are going around indulging in her lingered scent on a rose.
Amicus, who could curse the day this poem was assigned to him to do a report on.

Yeah, it's not a great poem. It looks like one of those "carpe diem" poems that used to be so popular. A few of them were great, like Andrew Marvell's "To His Coy Mistress," but this poem doesn't say anything original.
